Canada is grappling with a significant plastic waste problem. Out of the 3.3 million tons of plastic produced annually, over a third is designed as single use products and packaging. Some of this waste ends up in recycling programs across the country, however, the majority ends up in landfills and the environment.

Steps have been taken to reduce the amount of plastic waste generated in Canada, such as restrictions on the production of specific products, additional charges for consumer goods, and variations on existing plastic designs, like paper straws. Though our intentions are noble, a fundamental shift in how our economy operates is needed in order to co-exists with our environment.

In Canada, plastic production is a $35 billion industry, hiring over 100,000 people across the country. The unfortunate consequence of such a large industry is its inevitable effect on the environment.

Mother Earth Inc. aims to combat the negative effects of plastic production by utilizing the waste as a resource. Our high efficiency, low emission machinery refines plastic pollution into a wide range of commercial and consumer building materials.
